lyrics

A Tyrant's Plea

The moon blushed and turned white the sky
When her beating heart raised up a prayer
And hours passed till morning rain
Shimmered in the lonesome air
I will not cry but face the sun
Dance your dance and hum your name
Until forgiveness asks no more
And I've forgotten where I came

Rows of angels line the mountains
Sunsets adorn the halls
Meek is all my answer is
When my pleasure hears its call
I will not bend to nearly break
Or give regards unto my friends
Or taste the truth or consequence
Of seven seas and bitter winds

Oh, how no more time goes by
Without the weary laughter of
An ageless spirit hovering
At her home so high above
The dusk and dawn and waning hills
Reaching down to comfort me
Like the softest of a morning shade
Or the weakest of a tyrant's plea
