lyrics

on a bench in the park in the sun
is a good place to wait
watch strangers come and go
pretend the world might hesitate
for a better time, a better place
to send you on your way
but you close your eyes and realize
that moment is today, so you say

I can't wait here any longer
it wouldn't be right
I thought I was stronger
'till the middle of the night

stranded highways and shadows
grinding to the bone
you are not all alone

on a moonlit drive
is a good time to let go
remember how summer felt back then
it moved fast, it moved slow
we've listed all our indiscrepancies
and torn down every wall
that kept us from falling on our knees
said please, can't you see?

it was a Monday night
we were taking it slow
everybody was hanging out
there was nowhere to go
but its never coming back again
